This afternoon was nothing short of phenomenal!
Pupils in years four, five and six in Chiswick and Bedford Park School and Orchard House School came together this afternoon to learn about the journey of child soldier turned activist, actor and artist Emmanuel Jal.
Emmanuel was rescued by British Aid worker Emma McCune and smuggled into Kenya, where he overcame several struggles to become the great man he is today.
We sat in awe, listening to Emmanuel’s trails and tribulations. He reminded us of the value of having a positive mindset, embodying values such as courage and understanding that it is okay to be afraid or even fail at times; understanding failing proves that we are trying.
‘Sometimes your solutions are right in front of you; you just have to ask the right questions’
