CLUBS Chess Championships

Well done to the members of the school’s chess club, who represented Orchard House in the U9 category heats at last weekend’s National Primary Schools Chess Championship, the country’s longest running primary school chess competition.

Some of the boys were playing in their first ever chess tournament and the OHS chess teacher said the boys played amazingly well to get 12.5 points out of a maximum 25, narrowly missing out on qualification for the national semi-finals by just half a point.
