We were delighted to welcome the author Michael De Souza, creator of ‘Rastamouse’, to talk to the children. He engaged everyone, children and adults alike, as they performed a variety of poems. Needless to say the adults needed quite a bit of help! At the end of the sessions with Michael you could not help but feel the ‘irie’.

Throughout the day a host of activities took place: writing black out poems, making bookmarks, creating their own version of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ using objects, grappling with a crayon’s feelings, finding a book to read during the book swap, with only the blurb as a guideline, the older children reading to the younger children, and to end the day: the Grand Parade, which ended happily ever after!
