FAQs
1. Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, absolutely. We kindly ask you to complete the above form and our admissions team will either confirm your booking for the Open Day or provide available dates for group tours and private visits.
2. Will I receive a booking confirmation?
Yes, we will send you a booking confirmation with further details and information on where the tour begins.
3. How long does the group tour last?
Our group tours typically run from 10.00–11.30am, giving you plenty of time to explore our facilities and gain a real sense of life at Orchard House. The tour begins at our Early Years building, 2 Rupert Road, and follows the journey your child will take through the school, visiting our Pre-Prep, Prep School and our Innovation Hub – all just a short walk apart.
4. Can children attend visits?
Absolutely! Families are very welcome to bring their children along to tours. As the visit includes several buildings, some with steps, we kindly suggest avoiding buggies where possible.
5. Will I receive follow-up information after the visit?
Yes — following your visit, our Admissions team will be in touch to answer any further questions and guide you through the next steps in the admissions process.
6. What should I bring with me to a visit?
We recommend bringing along any questions you may have about admissions, our curriculum, or school life. Other than that, you won’t need to bring anything — just come ready to explore and enjoy the experience.
7. Can I visit the school outside of scheduled tour times?
If you’re unable to attend an Open Day or our Tuesday and Thursday morning group tours, please do get in touch. We will always try our best to accommodate visits at an alternative time where possible.
8. Are visits available during the school holidays?
Our group tours usually take place during term time (please refer to our term dates). If you would like to visit during the holidays, do contact us and we will try to accommodate your request. However, we do recommend visiting during term time, as this offers the best opportunity to experience our school community, see lessons in action, and meet our staff.
9. Is there parking available?
There is metered street parking available around the local streets and the school is very accessible by foot or public transport. The closest tube station is Turnham Green, which is less than 5 minutes away.
If you have any further questions about your visit or the admissions process, please contact our Admissions team on 020 8742 8544 or email admissions@orchardhs.org.uk. They will be delighted to guide you through the process and support you with any queries.
